Highway Performance Management System (HPMS) and MAPS

Highway Performance Management System (HPMS), is a data report of all functionally classified roads within the WACOG region, by community.  Each year, all communities report various elements of each classified road within their boundaries; add new classified roads, or change a road classification, and report the changes or additions through the HPMS ADOT system.  The raw data is provided to WACOG, who in turn creates the reports below.

Important notes on HPMS and Classification of Roadways:

• HPMS data entry workshops are usually held in December of each year (WACOG sponsor)
• HPMS data entry starts around January 2 each year, and ends March 1st.
• Only functionally classified roads are entered into the HPMS system.
• Only functionally classified roads are eligible for federal funding.
• Applications to functionally classify a road are submitted directly to WACOG for review and processing to ADOT.  (Any time during the year.)
